It’s time to bust out the fall decor! And I’ve made some super fun acrylic pouring fall decor to celebrate the weather cooling down!

I found all of the canvases for these projects, these super cute wood cutouts and styrofoam pumpkins, at the Dollar Tree!
To really highlight the spirit of the season for this acrylic pouring fall decor, I used quite a few shades of warm metallics, grounded with a rich brown color. But you can totally customize these to fit in with the style of decor you like by just changing the colors to suit your taste!
If you’re new to pouring, head on over to my Beginner’s Guide to learn all about the art form and how to get started as well as my Comprehensive Techniques Guide to check out videos for each different technique.

Turkey

- Lay a base coat down on the feathers of your turkey.
- Cover your string in the colors you want your feathers to be and lay the string vertically down the center of the feather. Drag the string from the turkey out to the edge. Repeat for each of the feathers.
- With the skewer dipped in a little dark paint, accent the vein of the feather in the center.
- Layer your pouring cup as you would for a regular tree ring pour, by pouring each color of paint slowly down the side of your pour cup so that you have discrete layers of color.
- Pour the paint from your pour cup out onto the center of the turkey, making tiny circles with the paint flow.
- Once all of your paint is on the turkey, tilt the turkey slowly in a circular motion, stretching the paint over the body of the turkey.
- For the head, do a small dirty-cup pour over the area of the head to get beautiful ribbons of color, also filling in any empty space between the body and the feathers.
- Fill in any other empty space or make any adjustments you need to with a popsicle stick.
Acorn

- Layer your pouring cup as you would for a regular tree ring pour, by pouring each color of paint slowly down the side of your pour cup so that you have discrete layers of color.
- Pour the paint from your pour cup out onto the center of the acorn, making tiny circles with the paint flow.
- Once all of your paint is on the acorn, tilt the acorn slowly in a circular motion, stretching the paint over the main portion of the acorn, leaving the cap area empty.
- Choose the colors for your cap and drizzle them on.
- All along the cap, swipe upward from where the cap meets the main part of the acorn.
- Drag a string dipped in a dark color upward at an angle from where the cap meets the main part of the acorn. Continue on doing this in parallel lines down the whole of the cap. Do the same process going the opposite direction as well, creating the diamond pattern.
Jack-o’-lantern

- Drizzle your black, orange, and white paint all over the jack-o’-lantern cutout. You dont need to cover this completely.
- Take a baby wipe or a paper towel (wet or not, either is fine, though they may produce different results) and dip it in the paint on the edge of the cutout. Drag the paint across the cutout with the papertowel/baby wipe. Do this as many times as you would like until you get the results you would like.
