Are you looking for a meal planning and grocery shopping system to make the most out of your time and budget? Well, after much trial and error in my own home, I’ve found something that works great for our family, ordering groceries online! And hopefully it can help you, too!
Be Efficient, Save Time
Do you ever wish you had more time to create? More time to do the things that you want to do? Me, too! I’ve found that organization and efficiency really make this possible. Organization and efficiency also reduce the amount of stress around the home and creates that feeling of being at ease. And that’s really what making your house a home is all about.
Pitfalls of Traditional Grocery Shopping
We’ve all heard about meal planning and how great it is, but who really has time to sit down for an hour each week to make a list and then another couple hours to go to the store for the shopping? And if you’re like me and don’t actually live close to a grocery store, this whole ordeal can take up the better part of an entire day. On top of that, it never fails that you will get home and find that you’ve forgotten something, leading to yet another trip to the store and more time spent shopping.
So what is to be done about this? Is there a way to get around these problems? Yes!
The Solution: Ordering Groceries Online!
I’ve found that the key the grocery shopping nightmare is to order your groceries online. Nowadays, there are a number of stores that allow you to order your groceries for pickup. I use Walmart Grocery pickup because it’s nearby and pickup is free.
Never Spend Hours Shopping Again!
I mean, guys, it’s seriously one of the best things I’ve ever come across. I do my shopping whenever I want, after the kids’ bedtime, naptime, middle of the night, first thing in the morning, whenever! Then I schedule a time for pickup, which I usually time to coincide with my husband’s trip home so that he can just swing by and pick them up on the way home.
They bring the groceries out to the car and even load them for you! This is AMAZING! I have always hated going grocery shopping, but when I had kids, it became a whole other experience that I dreaded. And, quite frankly, I’m pretty sure they hate it as well.
No More Lists
Besides the fact that I don’t have to go into the store, ordering groceries is awesome because instead of putting things on a list that I’m totally going to misplace, I can add the things I need or run out of to a running order online, so I’m actually shopping as I go through the week, making sitting down to grocery shop so much less time consuming.
Simple Meal Planning
Another thing that I struggle with in regard to meal planning is not knowing what to make. So with ordering groceries, if I get an idea, I can look it up and add things to my cart right then and there, no having to remember what I was thinking about days ago. Along these lines, when I order groceries, I have Pinterest up in another window to browse recipes. When I find one I like, I just add the ingredients straight to my cart. No more sitting in the aisle at the store waiting for Pinterest to load while I stand there in the way.
No Unneeded Extras
And every time you go into the store, you know you’re subject to the store’s strategic placement of products that you don’t really need but that look delicious, which always trips me up and I buy things that I don’t need and that aren’t good for me and my family. By ordering, I am able to stick to my list, no more and no less.
Don’t Forget Anything
I also love ordering my groceries because I can check if I have something as I go, so I don’t end up hemming and hawing in the store trying to decide if I already have that ingredient or not or wondering if I have enough to make dinner with. I also don’t end up with 10 of the same thing taking up all the space in my pantry. Also, if you do forget something, you can go back and add it to your order, even AFTER it’s been submitted!
Favorites at your Fingertips
In addition to the fact that everything is just a click away, ordering groceries is faster because, at least with Walmart, I have the ability to save my favorite items, which is great for all those essential things that you buy all the time.
Go forth and Order!
Overall, what I’m telling you is that if you’re not ordering your groceries for pickup, you totally should be. It will save you time, money, and quite possibly your sanity!
